In my book Healing Herbs and Spices, I list 35 of the most popular herbs and spices including how to best use them in cooking and their health benefits. Many people don’t realize that herbs and spices have two benefits – one is that they make the food taste better and the other is that they help improve your health!
When I cook, I try to use a variety of herbs and spices. Sometimes I even make specific meals using a particular spice to help heal some sort of illness I might be experiencing. And I try to use turmeric in a meal (or smoothie) at least once a week because that spice is so good for your health.
Mostly, I find that I use my favorite herbs and spices the most. Basil, cinnamon, garlic and ginger are the ones I mainly use.
Do you have specific herbs and spices that you always use? If so, what are they? Do you try to incorporate other herbs and spices in your cooking or just stick with your old stand-bys?
Thanks Lee! I added several herbs and spices to my garden and collection based on what I read in this book!
