Dee Power’s book Pamper Yourself Like a Princess explores another interesting use of herbs – using them as a spa treatment! Inside the book, she gives several herbal bath recipes that you can use for great soaking baths that will revitalize, rejuvenate and relax you. She also includes a listing of popular herbs to use in your bath and the benefits of using them so you know which ones will help you relax, which ones will help relieve stress and which ones will energize you.
But the book goes way beyond just herbal bath recipes.
It starts by showing you what to do to create a spa in your own home. She gives you in depth suggestions on how to decorate your bathroom so that it feels like a relaxing spa as soon as you walk in, including how to choose the colors and style that resonate with YOU. She also gives you a list of all the supplies you will need for having those perfect spa moments right inside your home.
Inside you will also find some great recipes for skin treatments including body scrubs, wraps and exfoliating scrubs – all made with natural ingredients! I really liked how she includes specific instructions on how to use these scrubs, especially for the body wraps because these can be a little difficult and messy if you don’t know the right way to do them.
She also goes into detail on different facial treatments as well as treatments for your hair and scalp – all complete with natural recipes that use common foods and herbs that you probably already have in your kitchen.
To make the book an even more complete resource for pampering yourself like a Princess, Dee also includes a section on exercises like yoga, tai chi and pilates that will make your relaxing spa day complete as well as a complete section on essential oils, different ways to use them and which oils to use for specific benefits.
My favorite thing about this book is that it focuses on all natural spa care treatments which are easy and inexpensive to make. I’ll be trying out some of these treatments – especially the facial care and skin care ones!
